Wattpad Tips & Advice From A New Wattpad Star
Over the past week, I've gotten a bunch of questions about writing/posting on Wattpad, so I thought I'd share all my tips and advice/resources that helped me over these past 6 months.
If you're a JPS reader and couldn't care less about the writing side, just ignore this post hahaha.
Let's get into the advice...
First of all, I read every single piece of advice in the Wattpad Writers Resources. Here's the link, it's 100% worth checking out: https://www.wattpad.com/writers/resources/
I watched videos from Wattcon 2017 & 2018. And I mean all of it (on 2x speed, but still). It's all available on Wattpad's YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/wattpad/videos
There are also some videos on the channel by Rebecca Sky that I found really helpful too.
I learn best through video, so I also looked for general Wattpad tips on YouTube. Crystal And Felicity have a channel that's a great jumping-off point, here's the link: https://my.w.tt/So8Mt1YrUab
I totally recommend listening to Tim's World of Wattpad podcast, https://my.w.tt/s07RHFssUab
Ou and the Road to Wattys Podcast hosted by Nick and Keely is great too, even if you're not entering the Wattys: https://my.w.tt/VUB0y9OtUab
Also, I read The Writer's Guide to Wattpad by @BenSobieck. I bought this & highlighted the heck out of it, but there's also a preview here on Wattpad: https://my.w.tt/tixVzqgsUab
Aaaand also my lovely friends here on Wattpad helped me so much by answering my bazillion questions. So making writer friends is another tip?
Hope this is kinda helpful! If you ever have any questions, feel free to message me. I'd def love to help if I can!
